Plastic Adhesion promoter
You too can rely on our heat-sealing lacquers for your plastic-containing products.
What are heat-seal lacquers?
The name “heat-sealing lacquer” is derived from the type of application in which the heat-sealing lacquer is joined to the surface to be sealed under the influence of heat. The surface to be sealed can be a film, a rigid workpiece or an extrudate in an injection molding machine.
There are three basic mechanisms of action for heat-sealing lacquers:
Melting
When heated, the surface partially melts and, like a hot-melt adhesive, binds the sealing surface firmly to the substrate after cooling.
Surface tension
By adapting the surface tension to the sealing partners, optimum surface wetting is achieved, which leads to better compatibility of the surfaces to be sealed.
Chemical reaction
The surface melts and components of the bonding agent react chemically and thus irreversibly with the sealing surface.
A combination of the mechanisms of action can often be assumed.
In order to select the correct heat-sealing lacquer and determine the sealing parameters, application tests in the laboratory are generally always required
Our adhesion promoters for plastic
SI COATINGS 310061-80L (one-coat adhesion promoter for PUR adhesives and/or hotmelts)
SI-Coatings 310061-80L is an adhesion primer for composite adhesives. It can be applied to galvanized, alloy-galvanized or cold-rolled steel strip using the coil coating process. The aim of this coating is to create optimum adhesion for various adhesives used in the manufacture of composite materials.
SI COATINGS 330010-80L (one-coat adhesion promoter for PUR adhesives and/or hotmelts, PUR foam)
SI-Coatings 330010-80L is an adhesion primer for PUR foams. The primer can be applied to galvanized, alloy-galvanized or cold-rolled steel strip using the coil coating process. The aim of this coating is to achieve optimum adhesion of PUR foams in the injection process.
SI COATINGS 500010-40 (metal-plastic adhesion promoter polyolefins and nitrogen thermoplastics PA/PP partly PE)
SI-Coatings 500010-40 is a solvent-based adhesion promoter for various polyolefins and nitrogen-containing thermoplastics. The adhesion promoter is preferably applied by compressed air spraying to galvanized, alloy-galvanized or other pre-primed components. Other methods such as brushing, rolling or airless require prior application tests. To improve corrosion protection, a primer can be applied to substrates that are susceptible to corrosion. The applied and baked-on adhesion promoter system is ideal for heat sealing or back injection molding with thermoplastics.
SI COATINGS 310025-70L (plastic adhesion promoter for polyamide, among others)
SI-Coatings 310025-70L is a plastic adhesion promoter for various nitrogen-containing thermoplastics. The adhesion promoter can be applied by coil coating to galvanized, alloy-galvanized steel strip or to aluminium and other metals that may have been pre-primed with SI-Coatings 219175-20. The applied bonding system is particularly suitable for heat-sealing or back-injecting thermoplastics.
SI COATINGS 219175-20 (Primer for polyamide plastic adhesion promoters)
SI-Coatings 219175-20 is a thick film primer which is required for adhesion systems such as SI-Coatings 310025-70L. It can be applied to galvanized or alloy-galvanized steel strip using the coil coating process. The aim of this coating is to create an optimum adhesion base for plastic adhesion promoters.
SI COATINGS 351099-80L (plastic adhesion promoter for ABS, among others)
SI-Coatings 350099-80L is a plastic adhesion promoter for ABS. The adhesion promoter can be applied to galvanized or alloy-galvanized steel or aluminium strip using the coil coating process. The applied adhesion promoter system is particularly suitable for heat sealing or back injection molding with ABS. The use of a primer, which should be matched to the respective substrate, has proven to be advantageous for various applications.
SI COATINGS 719901-80 (Aqueous adhesion promoter for a wide range of plastics)
SI-Coatings 719901-80 is a plastic adhesion promoter that is suitable for a wide range of plastics. The adhesion promoter can be applied using the coil coating method with or without primer. The applied adhesion promoter system is particularly suitable for heat-sealing or back-injecting PU, TPU, ABS, PMMA and their mixtures.
